21st dec, wednesday
i took half day fRom woRk cos i thought i would be too excited to concentRate on woRk... also thought would be able to have a nice lunch with deaR... but.... the mommy's boy decided to be a good boy and stay at home... so i was left alone foR the afteRnoon... Really Really RegRetted taking half day... made myself felt woRse alone... =(
deaR came oveR my house in the evening... foR dinneR.. gReedy him always come and eat... then i have to wash ALL the bowls and pots and pans and cups and chopsticks and spoons.......... if u didn't catch this in my pRevious entRies, I HATE DISH WASHING. oh well.. deaR went to sleep on my bed at 8pm... while i had to wait foR my naughty bRotheR to come home and eat dinneR befoRe i could cleaR up and wash the stuff... sianz... ended up my bRotheR only came back at 10+pm... sianz... think i slept bout 11pm.. slept on my mom's nice haRd bed~ =) of couRse, i couldn't sleep well.. too excited maybe.. kept waking up eveRy half an houR... go to my Room to see deaR kicked off the blanket.. then i coveR him with blanket.. then went back to mom's Room to sleep...
22th dec, thuRsday
dad came home bout 4am, dad, mom and bRotheR saw us to the aiRpoRt.. sisteR did not come home that night... theRe was alReady a long queue at the aiRpoRt.. and i was so woRRied i couldn't get a window seat!!!! neveRtheless, i still did... just that....
yes... i can only see the wing of the plane... haha...
had mac donalds' bReakfast befoRe we boaRd the plane...
within the fiRst 10 mins afteR the plane fiRst lifted off gRound, i shouted to deaR, "deaR!! look!! smoke!! is the wing on fiRe?? how?!?!?!!?" deaR peeRed thRough the window and said, "uh, that's the clouds leh.. deaRdeaR dun naughty aR..." and gave me a nudge.. opps?! =p
ok.. i think i'm being veRy naggy... i TRY to cut down details k? but i'm a giRl!! =p
Reached HK aiRpoRt at 1030am... we found the touR agency and went up to the guy... and the guy spoke to us.. in cantonese... we both went.. HUH? hello.. i thought it's quite obvious we can't undeRstand cantonese.. we'Re touRists!! he had a teRRible chinese anyway...
the weatheR was COLD... fReakingly cold... the outside was coldeR than inside the aiR-conditioned aiRpoRt... who told me t-shiRt and jeans aRe enough in HK?!!?
the hotel was.... ISSIT A HOTEL AT ALL?!!? oh man.. i foRgot to take pics of the exteRioR of the hotel... it was... undeR constRuction... so it looked like a diRty constRuction site RatheR than a hotel... the inteRioR was veRy small...... even smalleR than NTUC chalet..... but still beaRable.. at least betteR than fiRst woRld hotel...
we took a waRm jacket (thanx peiwen so much.... i woRe uR jacket thRoughout the 4 days.. my jacket was too thin...) and went out adventuRing....
fiRst destination.. the mid-level escalatoR.. uh.. walked a lot.. haha.. nothing much to shop theRe though my sis says a lot.. quite sianz.. but an eye openeR to see long escalatoRs.. oR RatheR, lots of bRoken up escalatoR... and i kept standing on the wRong side of the escalatoR...
as usual, the adventuRous deaR was all out to exploRe... in the end we walked foR almost 2 houRs fRom the top of the escalatoR to the loweR peak tRam station... passing thRough the zoo and botanical gaRden (fRee admission!) as well... LOTS OF EXERCISE on the fiRst day!! took the peak tRam and witness a bReath taking view of the city... when we Reached the peak, it was..... FREEZING.. we immediately dashed into the shopping mall (which somehow was waRmeR) and staRted shopping!! heh.. had mac donalds foR dinneR.. (deaR insisted loh) the night view was enchanting!! when we went out to take pictuRes, it was VERY VERY VERY cold.. it was only bout 5-6 degRee celsius.. i couldn't stop jumping to keep myself a little bit waRmeR.. so glad i bRought along a shawl.. but the cold still pieRced thRough my skin... my hands and feet tuRned numb fRom the cold.. couldn't stay theRe any longeR, we weRe foRced to leave the place...
headed foR santa's town wheRe we saw lots of ppl queuing up to take photo with a Real life santa claus... but the queue was way too long, so we only took a few shots theRe.. somemoRe the cameRa couldn't take still pictuRes at night... sianz... then went back hotel to Rest.. my pooR feet which walked the whole day...
23Rd dec, fRiday
bReakfast at a neaRby eateRy... wanton mee!! tasted hoRRible!! haRz.. no wanton flavouR at all!! i didn't even eat half the bowl.. sianz... next up, ocean paRk!! FUN!!! we went foR a few Rides.. Raging RiveR, mine tRain and dRagon... Raging RiveR made us slightly wet, but fun!! mine tRain was the most exciting!! veRy fast and veRy steep!! fun!! dRagon was the longest RolleR coasteR in hong kong with 3 360 degRees tuRn.. i came down feeling quite giddy, but it was fun as well!! took the cable caR also... a veRy long Ride... veRy exciting as well~ heez..
theRe was snow at the lowland!! fake ones though...
went to stanley maRket next... we lost ouR way... sianz... stRanded at ulu bus stop with no bus... haha... luckily managed to figuRe out in the end.... but the place was boRing.. the stuff weRe too auntie-like... sianz.. night-time we went causeway bay to have dinneR and shop.... theRe was A LOT of ppl....
24th dec, satuRday
dim dum bReakfast at maxim's chinese RestauRant in causeway bay, hennesy centRe... GOOD FOOD, GOOD PRICE!! =p waited quite long foR haR gau to be done... but it's well woRth the wait... =)
shopping day... went to the stReet maRkets like ladies maRket, fa yuen stReet... long walk... big cRowd...
of couRse, not to foRget deaR's long and black face, with cRossed aRms standing looking cRossed and boRed and iRRitated... sianz......... he dun let me shop.................... =(
went to space museum, but cos it was public hols' eve, it closed eaRly.. sianz... went to avenue of staRs walk walk.. but it was quite boRing theRe.. went in seaRch of wife biscuits... couldn't find... deaR was SICK... and boRed... and tiRed.. and iRRitated by me shopping.. then i also sianz... so we just went back hotel... missed the symphony of light shows... =(
went out at night to temple stReet foR a little walk, then went back hotel countdown... sianz...
25th dec, sunday
mac donald bReakfast again... sianz.. a little moRe shopping and walk walk... took a Ride on the Road tRam... nothing too special bout it... went foR last minute shopping foR food... also bought food foR deaR's paRents... then went back hotel lobby to tRy to stuff eveRything in the luggage... haRz...
wanted to go to lantau island to see giant buddha, but we weRe afRaid that we couldn't make it back in time... so also gave it a miss...
nothing much bout last 2 days.. cos in quite sianz mood alReady afteR quaRRel with deaR...
slept a lot on the way back on the plane....
26th dec, 12am, monday
deaR's family (dad, mom and sis) came to fetch us... i was so paiseh... deaR gave wRong diRections to his dad who was dRiving me home... then we ended up missing the tampines exit and went to eunos!! his mom was like gRumbling on the caR... i didn't daRe to say anything.. =x
Reached home feeling veRy lethaRgic.... i am now also veRy lethaRgic....
went out with family foR fuRnituRe shopping (sofa only actually).. ouR sofa is moRe than 20 yeaRs old.. wanted a change... ended up eating suppeR of black peppeR cRab in changi~ =p food not nice but family waRmth felt.. =)
2006 coming!!! looking foRwaRd to the 3 couples counting down togetheR!! big thanx to wen foR booking the hotel foR all of us to stay oveR afteR counting down... we shall have gReat fun on satuRday!! =)
i shall blog about new yeaR resolutions when i have time and the mood...
