i just hate this suspense.
alRight.. all my students have finished and gotten back theiR mid-yeaR Results... as usual, my bio students did well.. haha.. fengxian topped the 2 classes again.. (afteR losing the top position to my otheR bio student last test) while pamela and juliana did me and themselves pRoud by being top 10 of the 2 classes... Rachel was even betteR! she got an A2 foR heR bio... which she told me less than 10 ppl in heR cohoRt got distinction.... top 10 in the cohoRt!! wow.. i dun think i was eveR that gReat.. maybe only foR chinese in secondaRy school.. haha...
anyway, like i told magaRet and Rachel befoRe, i Really dun think she needs bio tuition... she's Really good in it le.. just need time on heR own to memoRise those stuff.. undeRstanding concepts wise she has no pRobs.. but Rachel insists that she's bad in bio.. told me she got B4/C5 usually... but somehow afteR i taught heR, she got almost full maRks foR a test and did well foR mid-yeaR.. i wondeR if i Really helped heR... haRz.. think i just give heR confidence and luck! like deaR says.. placebo effect!
when i told Rachel i dun think she needs bio tuition.. i wanted to help heR mom save money.. afteRall, it's taxing foR heR paRents to engage 3 tutoRs at one go.. (me foR bio, sutee foR maths, Ronglun foR chem..) i heaRd fRom sutee that heR maths is quite bad.. but i feel that heR bio is good enough! and i also wanted to be able to spend moRe time to teach my otheR students whom i think need moRe help than heR..
but since she insists on having tuition... i'll still do my best in tutoRing.. =) gonna give heR moRe challenging questions to do.. oh well.. she's been stunned by those otheR schools' bio papeR i bought foR heR.. heh... i like to toRtuRe my students.. =x
focusing on xia ning foR heR chinese O levels in less than a week's time... but hmm.... seRiously speaking... i'm only 50% confident of heR doing well.. she isn't putting in as much effoRt as i hope to... and definitely less effoRt than me scouting foR good assessments and passages foR heR to impRove heR chinese... so i told heR, if she doesn't want to see me oR heaR me nag at heR in chinese, she'd betteR woRk haRd foR just this week and get it oveR and done with.. it's woRking! she's been doing heR woRk moRe diligently now.. haha.. she Requested foR bio tuition instead of chinese tuition afteR heR chinese O's, and i'm moRe than happy to be able to teach bio.. =p
