my mom had a fRiend when she came to singapoRe to woRk at the age of 15+... she was a factoRy woRkeR.. and the fRiend was heR colleague.. they weRe both new to the company, and they stick togetheR like close fRiends would... oveR time, they became Really good fRiends... to the extent that they became swoRn sisteRs...

this aunt of us has a veRy nice peRsonality... otheR than 5th and 6th aunt, she's the closest aunt we'Re close to... i RemembeR going heR old house in JB to play on the swing when i was young... and i loved to go to heR place cos of that swing.. she was a veRy fRiendly peRson... always smiling...
then came the shock...

just days back, mom told me the aunt has got stage 3 lung canceR...

my mom was choking on heR teaRs when she told me oveR the phone... we have talked bout heR condition foR a few times... and each time, the teaRs in heR eyes would well up... and i would secRetly teaR along with heR...

i did a little liteRatuRe ReseaRch on the disease.. and otheR than the facts of each stage of the disease, i also found out that stage 3 lung canceR has only a 25% suRvival Rate afteR 5 yeaRs....

i didn't tell my mom.... knowing heR, i didn't want heR to keep thinking bout it...

and the aunt's still pRocRastinating tReatment... heR son is getting maRRied end of this month... and she wanna see to stuff foR the wedding fiRst...

haiz... fRagility of life... =(

anyway, i scRewed up my human development CA today... 40%!!!!! it was MCQ only and i left 15mins befoRe time's up... it was... difficult.... as compaRed to what was taught that is! no wondeR my sis who took the mod befoRe says it's inteResting to leaRn, but the exams aRE difficult... it was a LOT of conceptual questions... and some of the questions i dun even know what they'Re talking bout cos i have neveR heaRd/ seen those teRms befoRe!!!! think many ppl also stunned.... =x

developmental bio lab today was soooooo tiRing... watched video foR 1.5 houRs, then went station "touR" foR 2 houRs... in one of the video, we saw a woman giving biRth.. though it wasn't the fiRst time i saw such video (i saw anotheR labouR video in human anatomy), i thought it was Really gRoss!! the nuRse dunno stick what up the notRils of the pooR baby... and gRab the head and pull out the baby... so scaRy.... =x

the same video showed how egg and speRms weRe foRmed and how they meet and fuse... it was damn funny... the commentatoR went like

"they must have known that the speRms will have a lot of defects, hence the need to pRoduce millions..."

"speRms aRe pRogRammed to find the egg cell and fuse with it... howeveR, some speRm cells will just fuse with the fiRst Round object they encounteR..."

"speRms have to go against the cuRRent in fallopian tube to get to the egg.. howeveR, some of the speRms lose theiR sense of diRection..."

and eveRyone was just laughing and laughing... look at what a failuRe speRms aRe!! u got to see the video then u know how funny it was!
