just came back fRom human phaRmaco pRac!

it was a fun and gReat pRac! =)

the objective of the pRac is to leaRn the diffeRent Routes of administRation in live mice... opps.. why do i sound like i'm wRiting a lab RepoRt? =x have been doing too much lab RepoRt lately... just handed one in, 2 moRe to go! =p























the live mice!! theRe was 12 in all... theRe's one in each chambeR.. but can't see cleaRly heRe cos theRe's toilet papeR inside foR them to chew... and well.. i had to be quick cos i took this pic secRetly.. =p didn't use all though...

theRe was 3 Routes that we had to pRactice.. oRal, intRa-peRitoneal and intRavenous.. pamela was in my bench and as usual, had done much of these stuff befoRe and appeaRed boRed while i was so excited bout the mice... =p with heR guidance, i tRied intRavenous injection... tRied quite a few time injecting into the mouse's tail till i see the mouse's tail all swollen then i gave up.. my hand was tRembling! i anticipated that lah.. it always happen wheneveR i'm tRying something foR the fiRst time... my hand will tRemble like nobody's business, but will be steady afteR that..

and so i decided to tRy the intRa-peRitoneal one.. it was Really difficult to tRy to RestRain the mouse.. my gloves got bitten with holes and how lucky my fingeRs weRe to escape being bitten.. =x the female one was easieR to RestRain... this was Relatively easieR cos i didn't have to inject veRy precisely.. so it's okay foR my hand to tRemble.. =p tRied with anotheR male mouse.. gosh.. the mouse was so violent.. i came so close to being bitten.. haha... in the end, i still manage to do it.. do pRoud of myself! the otheR giRl in my bench was like scReaming and scReeching, Refusing to even touch the mouse.. i peRsuade heR to tRy, she held on to the tail, and quickly begged me to take it back.. hahaha...

i was disappointed with the intRavenous one, so i decided to tRy again on a spaRe mouse... and this time, i succeed at the fiRst tRy! hands weRe veRy steady liao... but i caused quite some bleeding of the tail's mouse that i felt guilty.. =x this tells me, i can neveR be a doc/nuRse.. my hands aRen't steady!! =p

it was cute watching the mice tRying to Roll oveR when we placed them on theiR back to time theiR Righting Reflex.. they just Roll and Roll and Roll on themselves while tRying to get back on theiR feet.. so cute!!!! some walk a bit, then like lose it's balance and staRt Rolling on the table.. haha...

was quite a shoRt pRac.. which explains why i can be blogging heRe befoRe my next lec at a stupid 6pm...

okay, ought to continue on my 2nd lab RepoRt le... byeeeeeeeeeeee! =)
