today's sunday!!

i woke up at 6am, feeling all Reluctant to get off my bed... dRagged myself as i move aRound the house, getting Ready to..... go foR woRk...

Reached woRk at 810am (shift staRts at 830am), to be welcomed by a whole lot of pRob...

blood bank had a patient whose ReveRse gRouping had agglutination in the O cells.. the patient was slightly anitibody postive and DCT positive... gosh.. eaRly in the moRning!!! the patient was blood gRoup AB somemoRe.. we usually only keep 2 pints of AB PCT in ouR stock...

my fiRst slide in haemato.... and bingo! i've had a slide with myelocytes and neutRophils left shift... daRn.. had to do manual diff count...

went back blood bank, the phone kept Ringing... did a numbeR of cRoss match.. thawed 6 packs of FFPs.. 1 pack leaked... sianz... luckily it didn't leaked into the wateR bath else i've gonna spend anotheR 30 mins cleaning up the smelly pRotein which cannot be cleaned up by wateR...

when i finally found a little bit of time and finished doing 2 FULL CROSS MATCH foR the antibody case, the doc called and asked foR uRgent blood foR this patient.. which i quickly did a type and scReen... and viola! AB Pos... SIANZ!!!!!!!! i had to rematch the blood foR the patient.. meaning the 2 full cRoss match was done in vain....

the same doc oRdeRed foR 4 units of platelets.. i had to call foR tRanspoRt down to CTM to collect.. afteR which when i Received and issued, the stupid doc told me they dunwan it anymoRe.. ARGH. i had to call CTM to apologize and kena scolding.. then send the platelets back afteR Removing them fRom the inventoRy.. the stupid same doc cancelled blood Requests afteR i have done the matching and issuing... and i had to do extRa woRk to put these pRoducts back into the inventoRy in the system.. STUPID. so much woRk all foR nothing...

this same doc called me twice, afteR taking my blood pRoducts, told me the patient is veRy ill and does not seem to be able to make it... and that they dunwan the pRoducts to go to waste, so they'Re RetuRning it... at that moment in time, i was wondeRing... if it's theiR loved ones lying on the opeRating theatRe, i dun think she'll say that to me.. i think she'll RatheR waste the pRoducts and not lose an oppoRtunity to see a miRacle...

luckily smc helped me to Read all my haemato slides.. i was pRactially stuck in blood bank the whole day.. managed to take a 10 mins bReak at 3pm foR a shoRt lunch... then afteR that it's matching, oRdeRing, issuing, type and scReen all oveR again... sianz!!

i woRked a total of 12 houRs on a sunday fRom 830am to 830pm, and only had a 10 mins bReak thRoughout the whole day...

imagine how shagged i was!!!!!!! and not to mention dehydRated... i dun even have the time to go toilet oR take a sip of wateR...

this might veRy well be the woRse kind of shift eveR... even night shift is only 11 houRs....

yawnz........ i'm soooooooooooooooooooo exhausted........
